No one can dispute that Avira Antivir Personal is an excellent and complete antivirus; totally free too. But that doesn't mean it can't be improved, as is clearly shown by this Avira Antivir Premium.

Avira Antivir Premium comes equipped with many more tools and functions than the Personal version. Some of its features are: you can detect and check thousands of viruses, trojans, spywares, threats, rootkits, phishing, etc; it updates continuously to detect new threats; each time it detects a threat you can delete it, block it, place it in quarantine or just ignore it; etc.

In Avira Antivir Premium the checks looking for threats can be done manually, or left programmed to be done every so often. All the incidents from the checks are saved in a log file. You can not only check hard drives but also any removable drive.

It is interesting that Avira Antivir Premium lets you create your own startup disc; making it possible to chack other infected PCs. It also comes equipped with tools to create intensive protection of your email program, it has its own download server, etc.
